My Story

Travis Finley was a wonderful man.  He worked, played and loved hard.  He grew up in Windsor ME on his grandfather's farm where he loved to be more than anyplace else.  He was always helping other people more than he ever imagined helping himself.  He could make you laugh when you were feeling down, or make you cry if he got mad . :)  Regardless, you knew he always loved you; there wasn't room in his big heart for hate.
His son Kaden, who is now 6, was the light of his life.  He cried at his birth, and he teared at his first steps.  He watched him grow but not long enough here on earth.  Now he watches him from heaven, an everlasting angel until someday they meet again.
Travis' best friends were his cousin Jason, his brother Justin, Robbie, Scott, and Andy.  Although they may have grown apart in some ways they always could come back together like they never missed a beat.

From the Kennebec Journal:
WINDSOR Travis James Finley, 28, of Windsor Neck Road passed away Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, as the result of an automobile accident.

He was born in Waterville on Feb. 13, 1980, the son of Larry Finley and Rhonda Howe.

He was an accomplished drywaller. He loved his work and enjoyed the outdoors and all outdoor activities, including riding motorcycles, snowmobiling, four wheeling and camping. Travis was a very loving and devoted father to his son, Kaden.

He is survived by his father, Larry E. Finley, of Windsor; his mother, Ronda Howe Bell, of Augusta; his son, Kaden Lawrence Finley, of Farmingdale; maternal grandmother Dorothy Pooler, of Winslow; paternal grandparents Frank and Joanne Finley, of Windsor; his brother and best friend, Justin L. Finley, of Windsor; special nephew Lukas Finley, whom he loved very much; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.

Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner, where a funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22. Burial will follow in the family cemetery in Windsor.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Travis' memory to Teen Challenge New England in Winthrop, 11 Hudson Lane, Winthrop, ME 04364.
