My Story

David Dale Roripaugh died on May 13th 1997, he'd been battling Leukemia for quite a while and it finally got the best of him. He was and always will be my father and hero.

I was a kid when he passed and even though I'm all grown up now, I still have a hard time talking about him. I've never stopped mourning, though I can't tell you if I'm mourning the loss of my father, or of what he represented to me.

It scares me to think that I don't remember much about him. I remember the smell of his cigarettes, and that he liked to salt everything. I remember he liked baseball and animals, he laughed and swore a lot. He hated shoes and cops (no offense). But I can't remember what his voice sounded like.

R.I.P. daddy.
