My Story

Our Mum,
A fantastic lady that devoted her life to bringing up her 'kids', all twelve of us. I say twelve because I have seven brothers and three sisters, and another 'brother'. The twelfth one is really my nephew but Mum brought him up from the age of two. So to us he is another brother, and Mum wouldn't have it any other way.
Mum came from a very small country cottage in Ireland to the big bustling city of Birmingham, how she loved that place and the people. She would sit and reminisce about her time in Birmingham and when she worked on the buses. It was there that she met our Dad. She would tell us the stories of their days on the buses and then when my oldest brother was born how hard it was because of rationing.
It was still difficult times after the war for the whole country.
Then Mum and Dad moved to a tiny country house in Lincolnshire where a few more of us were born.
Eventually they moved into a little village where we were all brought up and attended school.
Mum had her traditional wash days, baking days etc. But even with all the cooking and cleaning that went on in our house she still made time to bake for the church's various garden fete's and bazaar's.
Time went on and we all grew up and had families of our own, but Mum still made time for her 'kids' and all their 'kids'. She always had some one of the grandchildren staying at her house, wether it be for an hour or two or over night or the whole of the school holidays she always had time for the 'kids'.
