My Story

Shirley was born to Lewellyn and Albina Colprit in December 1935 and resided in Stonington, Connecticut, before moving to Westerly, Rhode Island.  Shirley married Gary Howe and resided in Westerly until 1979 when they relocated to Jacksonville, Florida.  Shirley was the executive housekeeper at The Amelia Inn Plantation, Fernandina Beach, Florida, until a back injury made her a stay at home mother.  Shirley loved Florida but the cool weather of the north called her and her husband back to New England in 2006, which is when they relocated to Pembroke, Maine.  Shirley loved to look out her picture window, in her kitchen, at the freshly fallen snow, the bright red Cardinals, and the little Chickadees that would visit the bird feeders daily.   Although she missed her family back in Florida, she was content to live retired in the beauty of New England.
