My Story

Jeremy David Schouten, son of Karen and Gary, brother to Nicole and Ashley, father of Ava, uncle to Logan, and friend to many, was a strong, passionate, funny, outgoing, and most of all loving man. Though his life ended much too soon, he has left behind so many memories that his family and friends will keep in their hearts forever. Through much of his life, he enjoyed the outdoors, skateboarding, bicycle riding, dirt bike racing and much more. For three wonderful years of my life, I got to know Jeremy, and fall in love with him. He was my best friend, my boyfriend and eventually fiance, and father to my beautiful daughter Ava. I have created this site mostly for my daughter, but also as a place where loved ones can stop by and pay tribute and remember him always. At the end of his journey here on Earth, Jeremy overcame a huge struggle that he battled for some time. On the night of his death, he received his 9 month sober tag, and at his funeral was honored with a Lifetime Sobriety coin, courtesy of Narcotics Anonymous. So though his death has caused many a tear to fall, I will continue to celebrate his life and what he stood for, so that his memory will always live on. So I invite anyone who stops by to share your memories and stories. You know the saying that once something hits the internet it lives forever, well that is exactly what my goal is with this.
