My Story

Harry D Prugh, 77, formerly of Bowmansville Pennsylvania passed away at home on January 7, 2012. He is survived by wife Lynne (Vrooman) Prugh, daughter Kathy Gartner of Newtown ,PA and son Dr. Mark Prugh of Lansdale , PA. Born in Atwood, PA, he was one of 12 children. He graduated from Shelocta High School in Shelocta,PA.
Harry moved to Columbus, Ohio for a short time. He enlisted in the Air Force where he served for four years. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, he and his wife moved to Schenectady ,New York. While in Schenectady he received his bachelor degree from Russell sage college in Troy New York. Harry was employed by the Federal Highway
Administration as a systems accounting manager for 38 years in Albany New York and Washington DC. He was enrolled in the Management masters program at Ryder College. He is survived by siblings to grandchildren Bethany (Prugh) Creel of Mount Laurel New Jersey and Emily Prugh of Lansdale, PA and two great-grandchildren Josiah and Lily Creel of Mt. Laurel, NJ. Harry loved gardening, refinishing furniture, caning chairs and reading his Bible. He was an active member of the Nazarene church where ever they moved. He served on the church board, was a Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher and numerous other church activities. He took pride that his two children chose careers in which they could serve others (nurse and pastor). Funeral services will take place at the Groff funeral home in New Holland. Address and date. Pastor Kenneth Mingledorff and Pastor B.W. Hembrick officiating. Internment will be at the Terre Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Beck' Funeral Home in New Holland,PA on Tuesday Jan.11,2012 frlomhour. Donations may be made to the New Holland Nazereth Church building program.
