My Story

There were not many moments where I would see Georgann truly upset, she always had a smile on her face, and this laugh that was absolutely infectious. I can still remember the day Daddy & Sharon (My eldest sister) brought her home from the neonatal ICU ... although, back in 1971, it was definitely called something quite different. Mom had to remain in the hospital because she had a hysterectomy. So Sharon & Daddy took turns with little George. She weighed 3 lbs & I'm not sure about the ounces, she sure was tiny though. Kimmie & me weren't allowed to step foot into the nursery, or we'd have our hides tanned by daddy. She was such a beautiful little baby, and grew into an even more lovely young woman. Her eyes were the color of the ocean, her heart, would expand to allow all those who had no love to come in. She was gentle, thoughtful, so caring & patient.

Georgann worked at an assisted living facility in Sarasota. She loved those she cared for, never once complained to family about her day (except that she was tired.)

April 6th 2009 - Will be a day that I mourn until the Lord my God comes to take me home forever. My Beautiful, younger sister was brutally murdered. She fought hard, but lost the battle to her attacker ... but won the battle of victory as her spirit rose to meet the Lord our God. The enemy couldn't take that part of her away from us. We are grieving, but it's not about us ... it's about her life. She had so many dreams, music to finish composing, a new love, She had four nephews & 1 niece, and will never get the chance to watch how they all grow.

I thank the Lord daily for the blessing he bestowed upon us (Georgann Lee Smith) One day, her death will be avenged ... and this is through the judgement of Christ., Whether this monster is caught or not, he will be judged for his wickedness. The enemy may be able to take her body from us, but not her spirit, nor all the wonderful memories
