Art always took the time to give of himself to the kids in our Onion community. He taught them to make candles; he gave them maps, lucky bamboo.... He made the families with children feel welcome & loved. He is forever in our hearts

In our fridge is a fruitcake that Art sent to us this year for the holidays. It is very delicious, but Jill and I don't seem to want to eat any more of it. Dearest Art, How could I know when you looked over and smiled at me from the Weight Watcher's weigh in line, that it would be the last time I saw that loving look? Your place is very empty at the Onion, but your quiet strength fills the room. Thank you is such a small phrase for all you have done. Thank you for a life well lived my friend.

Art, The body we saw buried this morning was only the physical part of you. You will continue to be an important part of our lives until we, too, die. Each time we talk to Dori and visit her; each time we go to a UTLA-R function; whenever we eat with Dori, you will be very much with us although we can no longer see you or hear your voice. Sleep well. Love, Gladys and Mel

Uncle Art was always a quiet pillar of strength. I remember him sending us honey with bees wax when I was little (that really is impressive when your about 7). When I visited him and Aunt Dori we gardened, picked oranges and went to the Angels games. (I love Baseball) Uncle Art always spoke with passion about teaching and growing things. Art belies the quote..... “To laugh often and m...
