My Story

Rose Cruz was a woman of God; a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; and a faithful and caring friend. She was born and grew up in Brooklyn, NY, as Maria Rosario (Mary Rose) Tesoriero, where met and married Henry Cruz at 17. They had 3 daughters. Their family moved to Hopatcong, NJ, where she became a successful make-up artist and cosmetics consultant at many area beauty salons. After her husband Henry's passing, Rose became a born-again Christian. She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and an inspirational "prayer warrior." She never hesitated to share the love and hospitality of God with others, and as a result, she was instrumental in leading many people to the Lord –including some of her own children! During her lifetime she was also a compassionate care-giver to the elderly as well as children. Rose "went home" to be with the Lord on April 12, 2012. Her legacy is the selfless love and generosity that she gave to everyone, especially her daughters and their spouses, Laura & Bob, Barbara & Ricky, and Nanci; her grandchildren, Robert & Amy, Jen, Matt, Jeffrey, Sabrina, and Teddy; and her great-grandchildren, Kara, Emma, and Jack. We will cherish her memory and love her always, and look forward to the hope of seeing her again in heaven.
