My Story

Petty Officer, 2nd Class Rodney D. Wright of Pensacola, Fla. died Saturday Sept. 24, 1994 in Pensacola as the result of a boating accident. Rod was loved by some many. He would brighten any room he walked into. He was outgoing and so friendly. He enjoyed fishing which was what he was doing when he died he was fishing and fell over board as his fishing boat hit a wave in the water throwing him overboard. I am married to Rod's nephew and Rod has came from the most wonderful family I have ever met. I am so blessed to be a part of this family. I was not able to meet Rod but his memory will always live on through his family. They will never forget him and neither will I. We love you Uncle Rod. Rod accomplished so much in his short time with us. He was a member of the First Church of God in Dayton Pa. He was a 1987 graduate of Shannock Valley and Lenape Vocational-Technical schools and a June 16th 1988, graduate of computer and tech in Pittsburgh Pa. He enlisted in the Navy in October of 1988 and took basic training in Orlando, Fla. and schooling in Pensacola. After serving three years aboard the USS Truxton, he spent the next two years at Corry Station in Pensacola as a computer techician. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his family. May he rest in peace.
