My Story

Robert Lee Doughtie passed away Wednesday, July 29,2009, in a local hospital. He was a native of Portsmouth, and was a son of the late William and Audrey Doughtie. He was predeceased by his son Shannon Lee Doughtie.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Doughtie; three sons, Shauhon Michael Doughtie, Sean David Doughtie and wife Keely and William Henry Doughtie and wife Mandy; a sister, Iris Ann Sawyer and husband JC; two brothers, Billy Doughtie and wife Judy and Jeff Doughtie and wife Cassandra, and five grandchildren, Racheal, Zachary, Kara, Kensey and Shannon.

Robert also known as Buddy, was a wonderful man. Always seem to be able to help out those in need and would have given the shirt off his back if needed. Buddy was someone who had a strong work ettic and loved working for Sims Metal also known as Jacobson Metal.

He enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren and cooking. His longtime favorite thing to do on his downtime was to watch NASCAR. Buddy will be forever missed and loved. He was one of the greatest men of all time.
