My Story

Remembrance

You can shed tears that he is gone,
or you can smile because he has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all he has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him,
or you can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow
and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow
because of yesterday.
You can remember him
and only that he's gone,
or you can cherish his memory
and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back,
or you can do what he'd want:

Smile, open your eyes,
love and go on.
....

"I've lived a life thats full. I've traveled each and every highway; And more, much more than this, I did it my way."
-'My Way' by Frank Sinatra

This memorial website was created in the memory of our guardian angel, Rich Kennedy. Rich was born and raised in Clifton Heights, Pennsylvania on September 7, 1945 and passed away on February 27, 2009 at the age of 63. I hope all who visit here will remember Richie and share the memories that they had with him.

Rich's parents, Thomas and Laura, passed away many years ago. Rich also had an older brother, Tom, who has passed away. Rich has left behind his wife, Michele, of ten years but together for twenty. He also has left behind three children: Ricky, Anthony, and Lauren, and two grandchildren: Sam and Cassie.

Rich's sense of humor and witty personality is something we will never forget. His constant need to tell jokes and pick on people is one of the many things he will always be remembered for. Growing up, Rich was a gifted athlete and his passion for sports is something he never lost. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, playing cards with his friends, and spending time with his family.

Rich had such a unique personality that so many of us will never forget. So many little things we can remember about him: his love for anything and everything that dealt with Clifton Heights, his constant jokes that he always thought were funny (if they were or not is another story - Ha..), cooking his favorite foods - Italian food and Soups, the way he felt the need to yell while talking on the phone, having to cover his feet -with blankets and water shoes- while on the beach so they didn't get burnt, watching the boats on the ocean through his binoculars, and his love for dogs.

There are so many things that we will miss about him. Seeing him laugh and making us laugh. Hearing his voice or just being in his presence. But we know Rich lived a lifetime of memories: ones that will not die with him but will live on through out every one of us - but most importantly, the memories he created HIS WAY... <3
