On August 13, 2010 at 3:47 pm an angel was born. He was named Joaquin Danny Santiago.  He was born at 26 weeks gestational age due to his mother having severe pre-eclampsia.  Joaquin weighed 1lb 7.6oz  and was 13 in long. He had head full of beautiful black hair and eyes like his father. During his stay at Virtua Voorhees Hospital Joaquin was a very active baby. He lived for 11 days in the neonatal intensive care unit. He loved his mom and dad and would flail his tiny arms and feet at the sound of their voices. My favorite memory of Joaquin was him trying to move a piece of equipment out of his face as his dad spoke to him as if to get a glimpse of the voice he recognized over the past 6 months.  Those who knew Joaquin loved him dearly. On August 24, 2010 due to Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Joaquin was called home to be with the Lord. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents, Danny and Shaliyah Santiago, grandparents Janet Torrence, Nilda Muniz and Manuel Rivera, 4 aunts, 4 uncles and a host of cousins and friends.  His tiny footprints left a trail of love that we will cherish for a lifetime.
