My Story

   James Elmer Reiman, 76, of Phoenix, passed away on July 5, 2009 at his home with his family by his side. He fought a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. He was born in Phoenix, AZ on September 11, 1932 to Elmer and Josephine (King) Reiman. 
   He was an engineering technician with SRP for 40 years. In the 1950s he played second base in the California State League for the Boston Braves, which later became the Milwaukee Braves. Jim was a long time member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and the PERA Club and also a Board Member of the North High Alumni Association. 
   One of his passions was tennis. He was a member of a 70+ club called the Limping Lobbers and had joined the Munds Park Tennis Club. 
   He is survived by his loving wife of 57+ years Shirley, son Jay Reiman (Katey), daughter Kimberley Kelley (John), sister Janis Semans (Robert) brother Lon M. Reiman (Mary Ann) and 7 grandchildren, Jeremy, Shelly, Joey, Angie , Krystle, Casey and Charles 
   A memorial service was held on Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church 3539 E. Stanford Dr.,Paradise Valley, AZ. Arrangements by Hansen Mortuary. No flowers please. If you desire a remembrance contributions can be made to the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund or Cornerstone Hospice. 
   It has been more than a year since Dad passed away. We all think of him every day and take his memories with us as we live day to day. He gave us so much and in many ways I believe that he knew that he was passing on his knowledge, love, faith and spirit to each of us. Thank you DAD!
