Dear Granny,
Here is a bright yellow sunflower, similar in colour to your favourites, daffodils. There is a field here that is full of bright yellow daffodils and I think of you every time I pass it. I think you would have loved it.
I think of you every day and miss you very much. I'm sure you're very busy now what with grandpa, Geoff and now you will be looking after my twin babies...
In memory of your loved one.
Oft in the stilly night,
Ere slumbers chains hath bound me,
Fond memory brings the light,
Of other days around me,
The smiles, the tears, of childhood's years,
The words of love then spoken,
The eyes that shone, now dimmed and gone,
The cheerful hearts now broken.
Two tired eyes are sleeping,
Two willing hands are still.
For one who suffered far too much,
Is resting in God's will.
You never said goodbye to us,
Perhaps its just as well,
We never could have said goodbye,
To one we loved so well.
Your gentle face and patient smile.
With sadness we recall
You had a kindly word for each
And died beloved by all.
The voice is mute and stilled
the heart
That loved us well and true.
Ah, bitter was the trial to part
From one as good as you.
You are not forgotten Mum
Nor will you ever be
As long as life and memory last
We will remember thee.
We miss you now, our hearts
are sore,
...
