My Story

Adam Walsh was born on November 14, 1974 to AMW's John Walsh and his wife Reve. Adam was shopping with his mother when he wanted to watch a group of older boys play video games. Adam's mother Reve walked away for about seven minutes, and when she returned to get her son, both Adam and the group of boys had vanished. A security guard claimed that he had thrown the group of boys out because they were bickering, and that Adam may have been mistaken as one of them, and left the store. Adam was never seen alive again. On August 10, 1981, Adam's remains were found in a canal in Vero Beach, Florida. Ottis Toole confessed to the murder of the child, and died in 1996 in jail of liver failure. Adam's story has helped influence America's Most Wanted, where his dad works to help find other missing children and adults.
