My Story

This obituary was created in the memory of our beloved Zachary Morgan who was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia on 26th August 1995 and passed away on 24th of November 2012, 16 years of age at 11:54PM. Zack lost his parents when he was 9 years old in a tragic accident. After that, Zack and his sister, moved in with his mother's brother, Justin Fletcher. Zachary went to school at Ankeny and played junior high football, then later moved to Ames where he played varsity football, swimming and baseball.

Due to health issues, he began homeschooling with his uncle Justin. Zachary enjoyed sports, and going on trips to New York with his aunt Tammy (father's side). He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Unfortunately, at the age of 13 Zack was diagnosed with aggressive bone cancer. During the later stages, he was in a lot of pain. Now he can finally be at peace. His funeral will be held in Iowa City, Iowa where he will be buried with his parents.

" I took Zack in when he was just a kid. He was always like a younger brother to me. I know a lot of people hate him because of the things he did, but that was only during his later years. Between all the medication and chemo, he was very angry and depressed. He lashed out on people and blocked everyone out. Deep down though, he was the greatest guy I've ever met. I never got the chance to say this to him in person, but I love you, man" -Uncle J
