My Story


To Tati, my cousin

I never had a chance to say goodbye to you or even spend time with you when you were here I am sorry for not spending time with you when you were in Canada visiting...I came across various poems and took some parts from different poems and added some of my own words to make up a poem that I believe resembles what you are a visiting angel. Here is the poem.

AN ANGEL'S VISIT

IT'S NOT THE WAY YOU SEE THINGS.

I WASN'T SUPPOSED TO STAY

I JUST CAME FOR A VISIT BUT I'M NEVER FAR AWAY.

THERE ARE NO FAREWELLS FOR YOU THIS DAY.

I'VE SIMPLY GONE BEFORE TO SET A PLACE FOR ALL OF YOU FOR WHOM I DO ADORE!

A BIT OF A PROTECTOR

A GUARDIAN OF SORTS TO STEER YOUR LIFE'S DIRECTION ALONG A DIFFERENT COURSE.

YOU'RE WONDERING AND WAITING FOR THINGS THAT CAN NOT BE AND YOU'VE MISSED THE POINT OF LIVING IN A WORLD THAT'S WITHOUT ME.

LETTING GO OR HOLDING ON TIGHT

THE THOUGHT KEEPS YOU AWAKE AT NIGHT.

IT'S NOT A CHOICE YOU HAVE TO MAKE.

BE STILL AND KNOW

I AM A 1,000 WINDS THAT BLOW
I AM THE SUN ON RIPENED GRAIN
I AM THE GENTLE AUTUMN RAIN

WHEN YOU AWAKEN IN THE MORNING'S HUSH I AM THE SWIFT UPLIFTING RUSH OF QUIET BIRDS IN CIRCLED LIGHT

I AM THE SOFT STAR THAT SHINES AT NIGHT.

DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND CRY I AM NOT THERE, I DID NOT DIE.

I AM BUT WAITING FOR YOU

FOR AN INTERVAL

SOMEWHERE VERY NEAR

JUST AROUND THE CORNER

ALL IS WELL

MY SPIRIT HAS BEEN SET FREE

A VISITING ANGEL

TATJANA, THANK YOU FOR BEING BORN AND COMING INTO MY LIFE FOR A SEASON BUT WE WILL SEE EACH OTHER IN HEAVEN
