Charles "Smitty" Smith Sr. 62 of Spotsylvania passed away at his home on Thursday March 1, 2012.
Smitty was born on October 25, 1949 in Pennsylvania to Booker and Jean (Henderson) Smith Jr. both of whom preceed him in death.
A veteran of both, the United States Marines and the United States Army, Smitty was employed as a civilian at Quantico Marine Base for over 30 years and was known to have a constant smile and to be always whistling.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Nancie, sons Charles Howard Smith Jr., Gerard David Henneberry and Arlen Terry Smith. Grandchildren, Terashea, Arlynn, Kasiea, Charles, Eric, Victoria, Justice, Arius, Dalton, Dominick, Haley and Kaitlen. In addition he is survived by several brothers and sisters and many, many nieces and nephews.
