My Story

Gladys C. Anderson was born in 1922 to the late James Branham and Ella Samuels. She departed this life at her home in Columbus, OH surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved brother, Eugene Branham; and beloved sister, Daisy Bagwell. Also, preceded in death are her three children that she loved dearly; daughter, Mary Day; son, Harry Smith; and son, Walter Thomas Anderson.

Gladys accepted Christ at a young age and spent most of her life residing in Long Branch, NJ where everyone knew her as Nanny. Nanny was a mother, a sister, a grandmother, a babysitter, a friend, and so much more to so many people. It didn’t matter if you were a blood relative or not, Nanny welcomed you as apart of the family. Everyone loved Nanny for her caring heart, quick wit, fashionable style, and for her “tell it how it is” personality. She loved to cook and was known for having the best greens around town. Her devotion to other people's needs will be greatly missed.

She leaves to cherish her sweet memories, one son: Charles Marshall, 17 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
